Where Would You Rather Be?

Snapfish & Travelocity are holding a photo contest called "Where Would You Rather Be?"

Although I probably won't win, because of some Photoshop genius, it was still fun to pick a favorite photo to enter.

I chose this picture, along with this description:
Being a California girl, I never get the chance to experience real winter weather. While most people escape to warmer climates during the winter months, I yearn for a winter wonderland. This February, I experienced the first snowfall in my life, which yielded more than eight inches of snow in one weekend! Definitely a first I'll never forget. I look forward to many more! The beauty is that I experienced this gorgeous scenery a mere 90 miles from my hometown. Now I know where to find my winter wonderland!

Sense of Entitlement

Attention owners of luxury cars. You know who you are. Just because you drive a nice BMW, Mercedes, Escalade, Range Rover, etc., DOES NOT give you a sense of entitlement to the road. Do you think because your car is twice as expensive as mine that you shouldn't have to follow the rules?

This happens to me often (at least a couple of times a week), but this time it happened twice this morning on the way to work. First, some jackass in a Mercedes comes speeding up behind me and when he realized he had no place to go, he sped past me and then immediately got back over into my lane with no signal, barely making it in between my car and the car I was following. Then, locks up the brakes, causing a jam of my car and those behind me. Oh, I'm sorry. Did you miss your exit to Starbucks, f'er? There are 10 others up the street that you could pull into.

The second instance occurred when a Mom in a Range Rover, on a cell phone, with a baby in the backseat, decides that she missed her entrance to the freeway and proceeds to cross 4 lanes of steady traffic with no signal or regard for anyone else. YOU HAVE A CHILD IN THE BACKSEAT, IDIOT! Think because you own a nice car that you're magically protected by a bubble that inflates around your whole car in the event of a collision? WRONG!

I'm not saying this doesn't happen to me by people driving non-luxury cars, too. It just happens to be that 95% of the time, it's some chotch monkey or some rich bitch who is catered to in all other aspects of their life that feels they should have no regard for those "lesser" than them on the road.

Use your signal...I'll let you over. Otherwise, you should know that bumper cars is my favorite ride at the fair and I'm not afraid to play on the 405 freeway.

Eisch Breathable Stemware

Everyone knows how much I love my wine. Also, everyone knows how I hate to wait for a wine to open up when decanting. I think my prayers have been answered. My impatience finally has a cure - Eisch Breathable Stemware. These heaven-sent pieces of finely formed glass open up wine in approximately two to four minutes, which would take a traditional decanter one to two hours. But, not without costing a pretty penny. Each glass costs $30-$35.

There are a lot of new gadgets out there, which speed up the traditional decanting process, but they don't get as good of reviews as these Eisch glasses do. When I win the lottery, I'll have to give them a try. Maybe Riedel will come up with a more cost-effective alternative and give Eisch a run for their money! If so, I'll be first in line!

I have my select favorites that I purchase over-and-over at Bath and Body Works, but I now have one more item to add to my list - Scentportables.

By far, these little babies are the best car fragrances I've ever had (they kick the crap out of cardboard pine trees). They can also be used in laundry rooms, hampers, closets, lockers, etc., because they clip on or rest on practically any surface.

Where Has Common Courtesy Gone?

Listen up, people! If you ask me to pick a date and time to meet with you and I give you two weeks worth of dates to select from, make it happen. Enough BS already. This has gone on way too long (since September). I'm over you. You're not worth my time.

An Apple A Day

Last night, Lee and I spent the night playing dominoes and a new game, Apples to Apples, with my Aunt and Uncle. Now, I can play dominoes until the sun comes up, but it was exciting to play a new game. Apples to Apples is ridiculously simple, but a bushel of fun! It's interesting to see how the "judge" picks the winner each round, as it can definitely be interpreted differently by each person. I made a run by winning 5 rounds straight, but then lost in the end on a head-to-head card match with my Aunt.
