C'mon Halos!

C'mon Halos...do this for me...do this for all Angels fans...and do this for Nick Adenhart! Nothing would make me smile more than seeing you hoist his jersey up after a comeback series win against the Yanks. Find it in your hearts and push forward. Get those solo shots like the Yankees have (multiple runs would be even better), find those holes like the Yanks keep doing and play like you've played all year - with enthusiasm and professionalism.

Give us die-hard Angel fans a repeat of 2002! I'll be cheering from section 507 tonight!

So Cal Sparkles

This post is dedicated to my sweet friend, Melissa Cameron, of So Cal Sparkles. Melissa is a long-time friend from high school (although we haven't seen each other since Black Angus days), who is generously donating a great basket of blinged-out baby goodies for Holly's benefit concert.

It didn't take Melissa more than a minute to agree to my request for some donations to raffle off at the event.

So, the best way I could figure to thank her is to promote her website and products via my blog.

If you're a girly girl and love sparkly stuff, checkout Melissa's awesome products on her website. She sells flip flops, bridal sparkles, hair accessories, and misc. goods. She also customizes practically any item you send her way (view the portfolio for examples of her work). You can also catch Melissa and So Cal Sparkles at the OC Swapmeet and upcoming Orange Circle Street Fair.

Don't overpay for those sparkly jerseys in the Angels team store or the fancy flip-flops in beach boutiques...buy them for much cheaper from So Cal Sparkles!!

Yes We Can-Cer-Vive

Most of you know about the Relay for Life we participated in on May 2&3 in support of our friend, Holly Lapick, who is battling Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Holly has a body scan today, and we're all hoping and praying for positive results! She'll undergo her final chemo treatment on June 4, so to celebrate her battle, we're holding a benefit concert for her at Swallow's Inn in San Juan Capistrano.

Not only will you be treated to live entertainment, but you'll also have the opportunity to participate in a raffle, purchase "Yes We Can-Cer-Vive" t-shirts and bid on amazing goods in our silent auction!

WHEN: Saturday, June 20, from 2:30 - 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: Swallow's Inn * 31786 Camino Capistrano in San Juan Capistrano
COST: No cover charge, but bring cash for drinks, the raffle & auction (Proceeds will directly benefit Holly & her medical bills)

Silent auction & raffle items courtesy of:
South Coast Plaza, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Carat Cake Designs, Billabong, Mama's Boy, VonZipper, Oakley, Zyliss, and more!

Does FAN = Frustrated and Nervous?

I know you always have to stick by your team in the good and the bad (kind of like marriage), but I can't help but think that at this time in the season, FAN isn't short for Fanatic. It's an acronym for Frustrated and Nervous. I sure hope our team can rally soon. I'm sure Adenhart's death has cast a heavy fog over all the players, not to mention a broken-up pitching staff and many key players on the DL. C'mon Angels!

Hooray for Opening Day!

At last, my five-month baseball hibernation is over. Lee and I can get back to what's right in this world (at least to us)...Angels baseball! In some regard, my Angels addiction was treated in mid January, when my Mom took us on the Angels fan cruise to Ensenada. However, I still found myself staring at the walls, because there was no baseball on TV. At least with the new MLB Network, I was able to get an occasional fix of pre-season game highlights, so I didn't fall into a complete state of depression.

"Experts" predict the Angels to win their division again this year, but not by the runaway 100-win record they did last season. Since the Athletics have beefed up their staff, the race for the West should be closer than ever. Angels are expected to finish with at least 84 wins with the Athletics in close second (I hope this is true, so my friend, Nathan, "shows me the money." Otherwise, I'll have to pay up.). This week's homestand should be a good indication of how our respective clubs' seasons will go.

The Angels have more wins this year in preseason than any other club, and have been touted as having the deepest roster in baseball. I really hope this is true, because if we can't make it to the World Series with 100 wins, I'm not sure where 84 wins is going to put us.

But don't worry...I always have hope. More surprising things have happened!

GO HALOS!

My Weekend in "Heaven"

This past weekend was a trip to Angels heaven for me. My Mom treated myself, my husband and my two brothers to the Angels fan cruise to Ensenada. From meeting and hanging with a few of the players to wine tasting in Ensenada Valley, we all had a great time. Here's some pics of the trip: THANKS, MOM!!

The Crime at The Roxy

I'm proud to report that the band my brother is in, The Crime, had a ROCKIN' show last weekend at The Roxy...yes, you heard it - the world-famous Roxy in Hollywood! Although it was a long drive from Trabuco Canyon, it was worth it! They get better and better every time we see them play.

I know I'm biased, because he's my brother, and all his band mates are like my little brothers, but I just can't help but to be super excited for them. Of course, they have to act cool and pretend that The Roxy is just another gig, but inside I know they were beyond stoked!

Congrats Karl, Tim, Josh, Brady and Ulises! Great to see you guys doing what you love!

Do or Die

Tonight is do-or-die Game 4 of the ALDS between the Angels and Red Sox. The Angels rallied last night to hold the Red Sox off from moving on to the ALCS. Even if you aren't a baseball fan...or Angel fan, PLEASE wish the Angels good luck tonight - for my sake :) If they win tonight, they come back home for Game 5 - the winner moving on to the ALCS. GO ANGELS!!!!!!!!!!!
